Practical informationArriving to the conferenceBy plane. The closest international airoprt is Lyon - St Exupery (LYS), to which many direct flights exist. Otherwise, we suggest that long-distance travelers consider the greener (and, honestly, more confortable) option of landing to Paris CDG and take a train from there to the Lyon Part-Dieu station (see "by train" below). A shuttle (rhônexpress) connects the airport and the Lyon Part-Dieu station, taking about 30 minutes with frequent departures (tickets can be booked in advance online). Once at the Part-Dieu station, you may either walk to the conference location (about 20 minutes) or use public transportation (see below). By train. The main train station is Lyon Part-Dieu, which is rather close to the conference location (20 minutes walk). The Lyon Perrache station is also a good option, especially if your hotel is located on the presqu'île (the part of the city between the Rhône and Saône rivers). Train tickets can be bought online on the SNCF website. Public transportation is a nice and safe way to go around Lyon. A tramway station (Manufacture - Montluc, line T4) and a metro station (Sans-soucis, line D) are located nearby the conference location. Line T4 goes through the part-dieu station. Here is a sketch of the metro, tramway, and major bus lines. The TCL website also provides a tool to define the best itinerary. Tickets can be bought directly in metro or tramway stations. Once at the manufacture des tabacs, where should I go?Before the first plenary sessions (Tuesday afternoon, or in the morning on other days) the entrance will be at the 16 rue Rollet (and the welcome desk will be there); othewise the entrance will be at the 6 rue Rollet and someone from the organising committee will be in the salon des symboles (2nd floor / 1er étage). Where to eat?Coming soon What to do?Nuits de fourvière. This is probably the most unique attraction during the summer in Lyon – A series of concerts taking place in an ancient roman theater.
